EGX loses EGP 4.9bn in market cap at Monday's close
The market’s turnover reached EGP 1.32 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a negative note, pressured by foreign and local selloffs.

The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.85% to 11,459 points after the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell by 0.94% to EGP 62.01 at turnover of EGP 62.9 million.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI dropped by 0.94% to 2,227 points, while the EGX100 EWI went down by 0.93% to 3,247 points.

Likewise, the EGX50 EWI retreated by 0.77% to 2,274 points.

The market cap value lost EGP 4.9 billion to close at EGP 696.848 billion.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 18.8 million, while local and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 10.7 million and EGP 8.1 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover reached EGP 1.32 billion after 506.4 million shares were exchanged through around 43,720 transactions.
